Have you heard that Build Repair Grow is hosting a Visioning Meeting at the Easthampton Public Library on Wednesday, December 13 from 6 – 7pm?
Since BRG’s Executive Director, Logan McFadden, moved to Easthampton over a year ago, they’ve heard parents and community members say that they would love to have a Tween/Teen Drop In Space or Community Center in Easthampton. This vision could become a reality and we want your input!
We see this youth community space as somewhere young people 10 years old and up could easily access during out-of-school hours to socialize, engage in meaningful programming, and have supportive adult staff teaching workshops in gardening, cooking, carpentry, sewing, and bike repair.
Build Repair Grow has been seeking a brick and mortar location in Easthampton to expand our workshops to include after school, school days off, school breaks, and summer programming and we think this is the perfect match.
Feel free to review the summary document that imagines what a space like this might look like in terms of programming and staffing.
With a brick and mortar location, Build Repair Grow would be fulfilling a communicated need in the city of Easthampton. We’d be creating jobs by expanding our staff to include year round instructors and administrators. We would be helping tweens and teens connect with a supportive, engaging environment beyond the school day.
Please consider attending the Visioning Meeting at the Easthampton Public Library on Wednesday December 13 from 6 – 7pm and please consider sharing this important event with your networks, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
